This is one of the oldest Polish health resorts. Iwonicz-Zdrój is surrounded with the forests and picturesque hills of the edge of the Beskid Niski. The historical, wooden and brick spa housings, coming from the 19th and early 20th century, are predominant in the city. The urban layout dates back to the same period of time.
Stylistically, the architectural structures belong to classicistic, eclectic and Art Nouveau aesthetics. Some of the buildings were built in the Swiss style, popular in the Central Europe at the turn of the 19th and 20th century.
